Wedlake Bell are recruiting for a Legal Administrator to join our award-winning Insolvency & Restructuring team (Band 1 Chambers). This is a full-time, permanent position, requiring full-time office attendance.
Our Insolvency & Restructuring team advises a wide range of clients including lenders, insolvency practitioners, creditors, companies, directors, and other stakeholders on complex matters where a company or individual is insolvent, going through financial difficulties, or where they are victims of a business-critical event.
As a Legal Administrator in our Insolvency & Restructuring team, you will provide comprehensive support to our legal professionals at all stages throughout the matter process, from initial enquiries through to matter completion, on primarily contentious matters. You can expect to be supporting fee-earners on disputes matters, undertaking legal research, preparing legal documents, liaising with clients, courts, and other stakeholders, as well as a variety of other ad-hoc responsibilities.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone keen to start a career in law, with a keen eye for detail and an excellent work ethic. While prior office administration experience is desirable, particularly in a legal setting, it is not essential as we can provide full training.

Key Responsibilities:
Assisting with the preparation of legal documents related to insolvency and restructuring cases;
Conducting legal research and providing summaries to support case objectives;
Liaising with clients, offering support and updates on their case progress;
Managing case files and ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and accurately filed;
Preparation of court bundles and assisting with court documents;
Supporting lawyers in drafting reports, briefings, and correspondence;
Participating in client meetings and taking accurate notes;
Engaging in continuous learning to keep up-to-date with changes in insolvency law; and
Other ad-hoc duties as required.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Strong A-levels (or equivalent qualification) – minimum of BBB;
Previous experience in an office or professional-services environment would be advantageous but not essential.
Strong research skills;
Excellent organisational abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities;
Proactive communication skills and comfortability in client-facing situations; and
High standards of professionalism and integrity.
